The Ideal Coffee House

You walk down the main street of your town.  Suddenly, a soft aroma greets you.  The light tones of Colombia, the harsh jolt of Brazil, the playful caress of Spain.  You are transported all around the world in the space of seconds.  You follow the sounds of light chatter and laughter around the corner to a quaint little coffee shop. You sit down at a table and are greeted by a cheerful barista, waiting to take your order.  The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff polite and attending, the menu varied and appetizing. As you settle in for your first sip of your chai latte, you know this will be your new favorite locale.

Let's face it, there's something about coffee.  It fuels our lives, from a quick cup at breakfast to a relaxing sip after lunch, to a much-needed, late-night pick-me-up.  It brings people together, it draws people out, it calls people home.  Coffee is so much more than a drink; it is an experience.
So then, the atmosphere in which you first experience your coffee plays very greatly into your enjoyment of the drink.  There is something that draws you in, beckons you to sit down, and compels you to stay.
Everyone has their own personal ideal for a coffee shop.  There are certain criteria that we use judge them - consciously and sub-consciously.  You come for the coffee, but you stay for so many other reasons.
We strive to take these reasons, both conscious and sub-conscious, and assess them to help others plan their future coffee adventures.

It must be said that everyone has their own tastes.  We are only two individuals weighing the options.  What might not be our personal cup of tea (we mean coffee), may perfectly suit others.  Please keep this in mind and enjoy!

~Bridget & Ainsley~

"Only one thing is certain about coffee... Wherever it is grown, sold, brewed, and consumed, there will be lively controversy, strong opinions, and good conversation."
- Mark Pendergrast -
